Alfred Alberico Montesi, 72, of Indianola, passed away Friday, November 13, 2020, at University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson.

Alfred, affectionately known as Freddy, was born December 10, 1947, in Shaw, to Primo Louis Montesi and Margaret Biondini Montesi. He was raised in Shaw and was a 1967 graduate of Shaw High School. After high school, Freddy attended Mississippi Delta Junior College where he played football. He married Emma Jean Moore on December 8. 1979. Freddy worked at SuperValu for 39 years prior to his retirement. He was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church in Savannah, Tennessee.

Freddy was preceded in death by his parents, Primo and Margaret Montesi, and brother, Primo Louis Montesi, Jr.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Jean Moore Montesi; two sons, Michael Wayne Montesi and his fiancée Ryan Schiefer, and Joshua Scott Montesi and his wife Kristie; one sister, Penny Montesi Washington; and four grandchildren, Anna Peyton Montesi, Hayden Elizabeth Montesi, Maggie Claire Montesi, and Hudson Scott Montesi.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm, Monday, November 16, 2020 at Indianola City Cemetery with Rev. Derek Westmoreland officiating. Burton Funeral Home of Indianola has been entrusted with arrangements.
