MRS. SUSIE BURNSIDE DIES AT HOME HERE
Mrs. Susie Burnside, who was more than ninety years of age, died at 10:25 o'clock this morning in the home where she resided alone, at 203 South Washington street. She had been ill several days.
Mrs. Burnside had resided here for many years. Her husband preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be held in the Huggins Funeral home at 2:30 o'clock Wednesday afternoon, the Rev. L. Hadaway officiating. Interment will be in the Abingdon cemetery.

FUNERAL HELD FOR MRS. SUSIE BURNSIDE
Funeral services for Mrs. Susie E. Burnside, 90, who died Monday after three weeks' illness in her home at 203 South Washington street were held in the Huggins Funeral home Wednesday afternoon in charge of the Rev. L. Hadaway of the Christian church. Burial was in the Abingdon cemetery.
Music was furnished by Miss Dorothy Raines and James Ground, with Mrs. J.M. Shipplett at the piano. Flowers were in charge of Mrs. Walter Dowell, Mrs. Charles Foster, Mrs. Renta Knisley and Mrs. Edith Walker. Casketbearers were Arthur, Guy and Charles Routh, Charles Foster, George Trovillo and L.H. Robertson.
Mrs. Susie Elizabeth Burnside was born in Fairfield county, Ohio, Aug. 10, 1849, the eldest daughter of Samuel and Catherine (Shafer) Soliday. When she was a child the family moved to Christian county, Illinois, and later to Knox county. She lived near Hermon and in Abingdon the greater part of her life.
When a young woman she married John Routh and resided near Hermon until the death of her husband. Later she married Isaac Burnside and made her home in Abingdon.
She always took an active part in the activities of the community. In her younger years she belonged to the various clubs. She was an active member of the Rebekah lodge and Past Noble Grands' club of the lodge. She was a member of the G.A.R., and the Neighborly Circle and a faithful member of the Christian church and actively interested in foreign missions.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother and six brothers and a sister. Surviving are the one brother, Douglas Soliday; one sister, Mrs. T.E. Burnside of Tulsa, Okla.; several nieces and nephews; her daughter, Mrs. W.L. Foster of Hermon, and many friends here and in California.
