He died in a local hospital on Monday.
He was a member of World War I Veterans Barracks, No. 1120 of San Leandro, the San Leandro Chamber of Commerce and the Southern Alemeda County Real Estate Board.
He was a past commander of San Leandro American Legion Post No. 117, a national chairman of the Legion's Boy Scouts program as well as state chairman of the same program. He was president of the 14th District Republican Assembly in 1950 and 1951. Mr. Fear is survived by his wife Margaret R. Fear of the family home on Downing Boulevard; one daughter, Mrs. Lauren Adam of Orinda; two brothers, James C. and Henry H. Fear; three sisters, Mrs. Hester Hatch, Mrs. Lucia Goodrich and Mrs. Martha Cliffel, eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
