Judith Roden, 62, passed away Sept. 2, 2023 at her home in El Cajon, Ca. surrounded by family and friends. A Committal Service with military honors will be held at 1pm Oct. 13, 2023, followed by interment at Columbarium B, Camp Ripley Military Cemetery, Little Falls, Mn.

Judy was born in Buckman, Mn. and graduated from Healy High School in Pierz, Mn. in 1978. Besides helping on the family farm she enjoyed riding horses and other outdoor activities. Judy worked at various jobs before enlisting in the US Navy in 1981. She was assigned to a support unit for Helicopter Squadron 10 at North Island NAS in San Diego, Ca.

Though Judy moved frequently after her discharge, she was delighted to make time to host a German exchange student, Susanne Furche, who became Judy's "adopted daughter". Judy eventually moved back to California and studied Ornamental Horticulture at Cuyamaca College in El Cajon. She truly enjoyed working in the nursery department of Dixieland, applying the skills she acquired at college. Judy also loved tending to her own flowers and plants, as well as spending time with her cats, Bonnie and Clyde.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents, John and Irene Roden of Buckman, Mn. Left to cherish her memory are four siblings; 2 special friends; nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, please plant a flower or plant in Judy's memory, or make a donation to your local animal shelter.
