Born in Springfield, Mass. he was the son of the late William Rozman and Stefania Mielnicki Rozman. He grew up in Windsor, Conn. Graduating from High School in 1939. He entered the Army in 1939, as a member of Comp. F, 169th Inf. Regt. During WW II he served in the South Pacific from 1942-45. He received a direct commission in 1945 on Luzon, PI from 1st Sgt. to 2nd Lieut. His later assignments included four locations in the US, two tours of duty in Germany and a tour in Vietnam as an advisor. His last assignment before retiring as a Lt. Col. was as Commander of the 112th Service Center HQ in Vogelweh, Germany. He was awarded the CIB, Bronze Star, 4 Purple Hearts, 9 service medals, and 2 unit citations. After retirement he lived in Manchester, CT. till moving to Lancaster.
Besides his wife, he leaves his sons Lt. Col. (Ret) Thomas R. Rozman (Joy) of Williamsburg, VA, Maj. (Ret.)Robert L. Rozman (Lynda) of Marshall, VA. And his daughter Elaine R. Alexander (Alan) of E. Petersburg, PA. His grandchildren include Doug, Bryan (Maria), Melissa, Michael, Matthew (Kathy), Todd (Yvonne) Rozman; and Brad, Matt and Tom Alexander, and great-grandchildren Raquel, Emma, and Karl Rozman. He is also survived by brothers George, Carl, Walter, Richard and Earl and sisters Helen and Betty. He was pre-deceased by Henry, Marion, Wendy and Lucille.
Lt. Col. Rozman will be interred with full military honors at Arlington Nat. Cemetery at a later date. Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Lancaster County, P.O. Box 4125, Lanc., PA. 17604. Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA in charge of arrangements.
