ARIZONA REPUBLIC (Phoenix, Arizona) - Wed - 31 Mar 1976

Fred O. Adams, 95, former manager of The Arizona Republic and Phoenix Gazette Printery, died Monday at Good Samaritan Hospital. Mr. Adams, 2915 N. Evergreen St., worked for The Republic and Gazette from 1905 to 1945 and was the oldest member of Local 352 of the Phoenix Typographical Union. Last month he was honored for 70 years of service in the local.

Masonic funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Thursday at Mercer Mortuary, 1541 E. Thomas, with entombment to follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Mr. Adams was born in Coatesville, Ind., and moved to Phoenix in 1905 from Braddock, Pa.

He was past president of the Arizona Automobile Association and past national director of the American Auto Association. He was also past president of the Hiram Club of Phoenix, past district governor of the Lions Club, and a senior life member of Arizona Masonic Lodge No. 2 F&AM. Mr. Adams is survived by a son, James F. Williams; a niece; and two granddaughters.
