Born Oct. 13, 1911, in Fayetteville, she was a daughter of the late David A. and Maude Gordon Gerhold.
In her early years she worked at J. Schoenemans's Co., Chambersburg, and Heisey's Orchards. She also worked as a baby sitter.
She was a member of Clayton Memorial Church of God.
Surviving are two daughters, Ruth Anna Mary (Mrs. Earl Pine of Mercersburg and Ruby Marie (Mrs. Michael) Oberholzer of Greencastle; a son, David F. of Mercersburg; six grandchildren, nine great-grandcildren; four sisters, Helen Hose and Hilda Hose, both of Hagerstown, MD., Beatrice Marquz of Wardford, and Emma of Rock Falls, IL; and three brothers, Lewis Gerhold of Mercersburg, David A. Gerhold Jr. of Stoystown, and Frank Gerhold of Enola.
Service was held at 2 pm Monday in Lininger-Fries Funeral Home, 47 N. Park Ave. The Rev. Floyd E. Myers officiated. Burial was in Pine Grove Cemetery, near Mercersburg.
