Other: Age 69. "Mrs. Charity Cramer, wife of Louis P. Cramer, died Monday. She was the daughter of the late John H. Mandeville and was born, reared, and married in New Jersey. She, with her husband and children, moved to Morgan County in 1856; they have lived here ever since except for the 10 years that they lived in Kansas. They moved from there to here about 3 years ago. There are 8 children left to mourn her death, 4 sons and 4 daughters. Two of the latter, Sarah and Delia, have never married and live at home. One daughter lives in Denver, Colorado and the other, Mrs. McShane, lives in Gardner, Kansas. Of the 4 boys, George F. is an evangelist living at Elkhart and the other 3 are carpenters, William living in Indianapolis and Jud and Ed living at Muncie. Mrs. Cramer was a sister to S.J. Mandeville and Mrs. Jesse Avery of this township and Mrs. Nelson Cramer of Greene County. Both of her parents are buried at the Sand Creek Cemetery." [She was first buried at Sand Creek, then was moved to Hilldale at the time of her husband's death in 1903.] Born in Stanhope, New Jersey; daughter of John Henry and Rachel Durie Mandeville. Married Mr. Cramer on Feb. 12, 1849 in Roxbury, N.J. During their stay in Kansas, they lived in Silver Lake, Shawnee Co. Mother of 12 children: William, Winfield Scott, Euretta Jane, George Henry, Lenora, Rachel, Sarah Emeline, Alice Rosella, Judson Malcomb, Edwin Morton, and twins Thomas Chauncey and Lillie Dell.
