Dixie was born Sept. 7, 1937 in Kellogg, IA to R. Mark & Zeta (Pearce) Scoville. She grew up in College Springs, IA. She married Lyle E. Allbery on Dec. 1, 1957. Dixie spent much of her career as the Manager of the Gretna Apartments and had several other administrative positions. She was a member of the Gretna United Methodist Church for over 60 years and held many offices with United Methodist Women, including District President, Conference President and Certified Lay Speaker. She was also very involved in the F.C.E., PVA and UP Credit Union Board. She is preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Lyle; parents R. Mark & Zeta Scoville; siblings William Scoville, Betty Peterson, Dorothy Chase, Robert Scoville and great granddaughter Hannah Leggott.

Survived by son John (Leslie) Allbery of Denver, CO; daughter Tina (Mark) Schaffer of Gretna, NE, grandson Christopher; granddaughters Whitney, Alexandra, Courtney and Chelsea (Shea); great granddaughters Madilynn, Olivia, and many nephews, nieces, cousins and a multitude of friends.

Visitation: Monday (9/11/2023) from 5 to 7 p.m. with Prayer Service at 6:30 p.m. at Gretna United Methodist Church, 11457 S 204th Street, Gretna, NE. Funeral Service: Tuesday (9/12/2023) 10:30 a.m. at Gretna United Methodist Church. Burial immediately following service at Elkhorn Cemetery. Luncheon will be at Gretna United Methodist Church. Memorials to the family for later designation.
