Argyl Rose (Adams) "Grammy" Meeker, 94, Anderson, died April 8, 2008, at Community Hospital Anderson. Born Dec. 13, 1913, in Anderson, she was a former member of the Bliss Williams School of Dance during the 1920s and danced at the Paramount Theatre when it opened.

A member of East Lynn Christian Church, she actively helped with the Food Pantry until summer 2007.

Also a member of Pet-a-Pal, she enjoyed sewing, crocheting, cooking and arranging flowers. She decorated the Home and Family Arts Building at State Fair for seven years, receiving the Above and Beyond Award from the Indiana State Fair Board in 1999.

Survivors include her children, Beverly Jone (Meeker) Almquist of Anderson, Clifton Douglas Meeker of Anderson, Ronald James Meeker and wife, Paula of Crawfordsville, and Argyl Roxanne Meeker of Anderson; grandchildren, Cindy (husband, Nick) Hart, Deb Schmink-Collier, Linda Almquist, Rhonda (husband, John) Walls, and Michael (wife, Carrie) Meeker; great-grandchildren, Tiffany Hart, Abby Hart, Kylie Schmink, Clint Schmink, Kelsey Schmink, Johnny Collier, Cliff Almquist, Elly Almquist, Wynne Almquist, Karleigh Davenport, Jenna Walls and Katie Walls; half brothers, Sanford Adams Jr. and Robert Adams; nephew, Frank Meeker; and nieces, Georgia Roberts, Kathy Bute, Sharon Sarvis and Drenda Sanders.

The family wishes to thank the staff members of Edgewater Woods and Community Hospital for their excellent care and to Dr. Foley for more than 30 years of special care.

She was preceded by her husband, Clifton W. Meeker, in 1970; parents, Sanford Adams and Pearl (Ashby) Adams Poore; brothers, Samuel Adams and Richard Adams; son-in-law, Charles E. "Chuck" Almquist; and grandson, Daniel Almquist in January 2008.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at East Lynn Christian Church Anderson, with the Rev. Susan Cameron officiating. Burial will be in Mendon Cemetery, Pendleton.

Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes, South Chapel.

Memorial contributions may be made to East Lynn Christian Church or the Madison County Humane Society.
