Don R. Browning, 87, of Hanover, departed this life on Thursday, January 8, 2009, at Welch Hospital in Welch.
Born at Emmett on September 12, 1921, he was the son of the late George and Lucinda (Belcher) Browning.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one daughter, Mary Ruth Browning; nine sisters: Hettie, Zettie, and Esre Browning, Mamie Fortner, Mona Walls, Eddie Hollingshed, Icy Pearl Blevins, Cordie Lee Walls, and Vernie Mitchell; and four brothers: Frank, Theodore, William "Willie", and Homer Browning.
Don was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, father-in-law, brother, uncle, and friend. He was a laborer for the department of highways, and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Those left to love and cherish the memory of Don are: his loving wife of 60 years, Martha (Kennedy) Browning of Hanover; his three sons: David, Oral, and Danny Browning, all of Hanover; his two daughters: Jerrie (Michael) Hatfield of Hanover and Veneda (Jamie) Perry of Hanover; his two grandsons: Joshua Perry of Hanover and Cory Perry of Tennessee; his two granddaughters: Natasha (Luther) Mounts of Hanover and Kristy (Dustin) Barrett of Oklahoma; his four great grandchildren: Tyler, Brittany, and Brayden Mounts of Hanover and Catylin Barrett of Oklahoma; and a host of other dear family and friends.
Friends called at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel in Gilbert on Sunday, January 11th from 6 pm to 9 pm with church services at 7 pm with the Rev. James Cline and the Rev. Carl Cline officiating. To honor his wishes he was cremated.
