Velma Louise Aulgur Blain
Velma Louise Aulgur Blain, 73, of Sweet Springs, died Saturday, Jan. 15, 2005, at St. Luke's Hospital in Kansas City.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 20, at First Christian Church in Sweet Springs. Friends may call after 4 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 19, at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Sweet Springs. Family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Sweet Springs. Memorials are suggested to First Christian Church in Sweet Springs.
Born Aug. 26, 1931, in Sweet Springs, she was the daughter of the late Everett "Bud" Aulgur and Beulah Carter Aulgur. On Jan. 3, 1948, she married Samuel S. Blain Sr., who survives of the home. She was a member of Sweet Springs High School class of 1949 and a member of First Christian Church in Sweet Springs. She had worked at Southwestern Bell for six years and was a homemaker.
Additional survivors include one son, Samuel S. Blain Jr., of the home; one daughter, Marsha Lynn Snider of Dallas, Texas; one sister, Loretta Aulgur LaRose of Shawnee Mission, Kan.; six grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
