Marjorie Hall, age 82, of Quincy, died Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at 1:37 pm in her home.

Marjorie was born November 10, 1940 in Highland, Illinois, the daughter of Edgar and Edna Lee Opal Stark Gerstenecker. She married Glen S.Hall on December 8, 1962 in Troy, Illinois. He preceded her in death on November 6, 1992.

Marjorie was raised in Troy, IL and was a 1958 graduate of McRay-Dewey High School. She worked as a bank teller in St. Louis for a time until her marriage to Glen. The night of their marriage, the happy couple drove to Quincy in a snowstorm to begin their new life together here. Marjorie worked as a teller at Mercantile Bank and eventually became Head Teller. She retired after more than 30 years there. She was an active member of Ellington Presbyterian Church where she enjoyed volunteering and serving the congregation in whatever capacity was needed. In her spare time Marjorie enjoyed baking, sewing, and working in her flower garden. Family was very important to her and they spent time together whenever possible. She also had great love for her bulldog "Gus".

Survivors include: three children, Scot Hall of La Grange, MO, Todd Hall of Quincy, and Marcia Strother of Quincy; two granddaughters, Sarah (Jessy) Keefe, and Maggie Strother; two sisters, Evelyn Decota, and Jane (Bob) Converse; and a brother, Frank Gerstenecker.

In addition to her husband, Glen, Marjorie was preceded in death by: her parents, Edgar and Edna Lee Opal Gerstenecker; three sisters and their spouses, Bernice (Edwin "Babe") Heck, Katherine (Clark Lewis and Bill McNiven) McNiven, and Grace Gerstenecker; three brothers and their spouses, Edward (Nell), Milton (Ethel), and Dale (Lila) Gerstenecker; a brother-in-law, Duane Decota; and a sister-in-law Jane Gerstenecker.

Visitation: 10:00 am - 12:00 pm Tuesday, September 12, 2023, at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home.

Services: 12:00 pm, Tuesday, September 12, 2023 at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home, with Rev. Ron Cox officiating. Burial at Ellington Home Cemetery to follow.
