Matilda married, 4 Jan 1855 in Williamson Co., TX [married by Isaac Garner, JP], William M Pool, a son of Beverly B Pool and Sarah Greenwood. After the death of William on 30 Nov 1870, Matilda married, 17 Apr 1873, James William Day.

Mother of (by Willliam) Twins, Willliam L, Ada, Henry Bailey, Andrew Ragsdale Sr, Martha Victoria "Mattie", Della Lee, Kohl Benton and William McClain Pool.

Mother of (by James) Buena Vista and Edward Martin Day.

Granddaughter of Jacob Hampshire and Hannah Lee.

Matilda died in Temple, Bell Co., TX.

Mrs. J. W. Day, the mother of Mrs. John G. McKay, died in Temple. Mrs. Day, whose home was in Bartlett, was visiting her daughter. She was 76 years old. The funeral service was conducted by Rev. Carroll Smith at the Memorial Baptist Church in Temple. The deceased was brought to Bartlett on the afternoon train and remains laid to rest in the Bartlett Cemetery, where her husband was interred some twenty years ago. Rev. Hartly of the Baptist Church and Elder McCarty of the Christian Church conducted the services at the grave. The pall bearers at Bartlett were the following: D. L. Pennington, A. Duncan, Jr., Frank Joiner, L. E. Bartlett, D. K. Leatherman, and R. F. Cates.
