Services for Irene S. Nicklas 94, of Junction City, La., a former resident of Lillie were held at 2 p.m. on April 6 at Union Grove Baptist Church in Lillie. Rev. Woody Reeder officiated. Interment followed in Union Grove Cemetery under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Farmerville.
Irene Nicklas was born in Saltillo, Tex., on December 26, 1913 and passed away on April 4 at Tri-Ward Hospital in Bernice. She was a member of Union Grove Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her husband Joseph W. Nicklas, and a daughter, Nadine Summerfield.
She is survived by son, Alvis R. Nicklas and wife Joyce of Haughton; daughter, Linda N. Thompson and husband H. W. Thompson, Jr. of Junction City, La.; grandchildren: Laura Nicklas; Joseph Nicklas; Tim Roope; Walt Thompson; Tammy Brantley; Terry Summerfield, Scott Summerfield and seven great grandchildren.
Visitation was held April 5 from 5-8 p.m. at Union Grove Baptist Church.
