Andrew John Munds, 29, of Wichita, died September 2, 2023, as a result of an accident following his passion, rock climbing, near Frisco, CO. He was born February 8, 1994, in Hutchinson, to Mark and Brenda (Engel) Munds.

Andrew graduated from high school in Wichita, received his Bachelor of Science degree (Magna Cum Laude) in Physics from Wichita State University in 2017, and was working on his PhD in math and business at WSU. Andrew worked with his family at Munds Energy in Hutchinson. He loved rock climbing, golf, snowboarding, playing the guitar, hot yoga, and game night with family and friends. Andew volunteered at the Wichita Humane Society, Hutchinson Meals on Wheels, and was active in Saint Paul Catholic Student Center at WSU.

He was preceded in death by: his grandparents, John and Janice Munds and Darrell and Anita Engel.

Andrew is survived by: his parents, Mark and Brenda Munds; sisters, Miranda Munds and husband Wyatt Brown and Ellen Munds, all of Wichita; aunts and uncles, Greg and Kendra Munds, Darrell and Debbie Engel, Christina and Mike LeBlanc, Annette and Tim Wasinger, Elaine Engel; cousins, Mariah Munds, Lucas Munds, Brent Engel, Lindsey Meyer, Matt Wasinger, Shelby Wasinger, Colton Wasinger, Alexa Wasinger, Stephanie LeBlanc, Haley Jarvis, Zach LeBlanc, and Aimee LeBlanc.

Parish Rosary will be 9:30 a.m., followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m., on Friday, September 8, 2023, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 123 N. Andover Rd., Andover. The service will be livestreamed and the link to view it will be on the church's website: https://svdpks.org. Private family burial will take place in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson.

Friends may sign his memorial book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday and 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., with the family present to receive friends from 6-7 p.m. Thursday at Elliott Mortuary.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hutchinson Meals on Wheels, Saint Paul Catholic Student Center at WSU, or Summit County Rescue Group, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
