Following the death of his wife, Grace Bateman Currey, Mr. Currey made his home with his son, Abraham L. Currey Jr., of 818 Oakwood Drive. He was a stationary engineer by trade and worked for years at St. Joseph's Home.
He was born in Shrub Oak, N.Y. December 1, 1867, the son of Benjamin and Alida Gale Currey. He was a member of St. Paul's Methodist Church; Delancey Cole Camp. No. 78. S.O.U.V. and Cortlandt Lodge. No. 8. I.O.O.F.
Surviving are two sons, Benjamin J. Currey, of Montrose and Abraham L. Currey, Jr., of Peekskill; two daughters, Miss Alida G. Currey, of Salem, Oregon and Mrs. Lawrence (Leone) Farrel of Huntington, L. I.; two sisters. Mrs. Doyle (Ruth) Foot, of Cranston, R.I. and Mrs. Henry (Annie) Slawson, of Peekskill and six grandchildren.
The funeral will be held Thursday, December 7th, at 3:15 P.M from the Ulm Bros. Inc. Funeral Home, 344 Washington Street, with the Rev. James McKierman. pastor of St. Paul's Methodist Church officiating. Interment in Hillside Cemetery.
