J. C. FERGUSON'S SISTER DIED AT NASHVILLE, ARK.

Mrs. William C. Gaines, sister of J. C. Ferguson of The Gazette force in Idabel, died at the family home in Nashville, Arkansas, Wednesday, about midnight, death resulting after year's illness of diabetes and complications. Funeral services, attended by Mr. and Mrs. Ferguson and their son, Ernest Ferguson, were held at the residence Thursday afternoon, followed by interment in the Nashville cemetery.

In the passing of Mrs. Gaines another of Nashville's splendid ladies has been called to her reward. Reared in an atmosphere of Southern traditions she was steeped in all the finer traits of character which have made Southern womanhood so notable. Although in bad health for a number of years, her great store of vitality kept her going and doing for others until just two days prior to her death.

Mrs. Gaines was reared in Nashville and was well known to the editor of The Gazette. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John H. Ferguson, and was well known and favorably known throughout the section in which she resided.

She is survived by her husband, one daughter, Miss Virginia Gaines, a student in Chicago Musical College, and a son, William, Jr., of Nashville, Ark. She is also survived by one sister, Mrs. O. T. Spraggins of Memphis, and five brothers, J. C. Ferguson of Idabel, and Henry, Ware, Charles, and Jim, all of Nashville.
