Born in Red Bank, NJ, May 26, 1923 to Anna and Charlie Bottagaro, Rose was one of six siblings. She graduated from Red Bank High School in 1941 and attended a NYC acting school before proudly serving in the Office of the Army Commander at Fort Monmouth during WWII. It was there that she met the love of her life and husband of 65 years, the late Claude M. Blair, then a Major in the Army Signal Corp. Over the next fifty years they moved frequently because of Claude's career with AT&T and National City Bank with residences in New Jersey, Georgia, Massachusetts, Maryland, Colorado, Washington, and Ohio. They retired to Palm Beach, Florida, in 2002.
Rose is predeceased by her beloved husband, Claude, and daughter, Barbara Ann McCallum. She is survived by her son, and daughter. She has six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
A private service will be conducted in the columbarium at Bethesda-by-the-Sea in Palm Beach. Donations to honor Rose can be made to Habitat for Humanity or the American Cancer Society.
