Jimmy enjoyed working as a guidance counselor and teacher for the Jackson Public School system. He loved to sing in the church choir, played the trumpet and worked with the deaf community for a local church. After "retiring", he went back to work full time at Mississippi College and worked until he was 80 years old. He never did enjoy "just sitting around that house."
He is predeceased by his parents and his sister, Patricia Cremer. He is survived by his 2 brothers Richard King (Sue) and Billy King (Marilyn). He is also survived by his 2 sons Jay King (Shannon) and Paul King (Wendy) and his eight grandchildren, Avery, Nolan, Nate, Elly, Johnny, Andrew, Joseph, and Jason.
The family will have a private service.
