Elizabeth Sue Joiner Mitchell saw the Face of her Lord on August 29th, 2023.

She was a graduate of Farragut High School and Knoxville Business College. She was a wife of 47 1/2 years to her sweetheart, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Sue was preceded in death by her husband, Steve Mitchell Sr.; son, Scotty Mitchell; brother, J.T. Joiner; and her parents, Rev. Earl and Thelma Joiner.

She is survived by sons, Steve Mitchell, Stuart Mitchell, and Michael Peters; grandson, Cody (Shayna) Mitchell; granddaughter, Emily (Jake) Strickland; great-granddaughters, Millie and Hatti Strickland; sister, Ann Milsaps; brother, John (Marsha) Joiner; brother, Charles (Wanda) Joiner; brother, J.T.'s family; and an abundance of brothers and sisters in Christ.

Sue never met a stranger and was always sharing the goodness of her Lord Jesus Christ whether thru song while singing gospel music with her family or just by striking up a conversation with anyone who sat beside her.

Family will receive friends 6-7pm on Wednesday, September 6 at Cedar Bluff Baptist Church with a Celebration of Life service to immediately follow.
