Evelyn Jane Serrato (nee Lucas), age 85, passed away on Sunday, August 27, 2023.

She was a lifelong resident of Rockdale, graduating from Providence Catholic High School and continued meeting with her friends from high school until recently.

Evelyn was known to many as 'Grandma' from when she worked at a little store in Rockdale.

She enjoyed playing bingo and visiting the casinos where she played penny slots.

Evelyn was a lifelong member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Rockdale and recently attended St. Jude Catholic Church in Joliet.

She will be truly missed by all who knew her.

Evelyn is survived by her children, Otto James Serrato, Jess J. Serrato, Jr. and William G. (Serena) Serrato; grandchildren, William G. Serrato, Jr. and Korinne K. (Joe) Budz; great-grandchildren, Aiden Ikerd, Adelynn Budz and Austin Budz; her brother, Steve Lucas; numerous sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews; as well as lifelong friends, Lois, Marylou, Maxine, Laurie, Sandy and Bob 'Figgy'.
Preceded in death by her husband, Jess Joseph Serrato; her parents, Steven and Lucille Lucas; and friends, Judy Truax and Barb Salaiz.

Services: Friday, September 1, 2023 with a visitation at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road, Joliet from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
