Ms. Nancy Earlene (Ames) McGinthia, passed away into the arms of Jesus; in her home in Greenwood, with her family beside her. She was born to Earl and Macie (Patti) Ames on March 24, 1944 in Galena, Kansas. Nancy grew up in Joplin, Missouri, where her family attended and served the First Gospel Workers Church. She married her sweetheart of 57 years, Philip McGinthia. Nancy attended and served her church with her family at Harvest Time. She worked as a secretary for the principal for Barling Elementary and for the Greenwood School District for 27 years total. Nancy enjoyed working in her garden and was a member of the Master Gardeners.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her husband: Philip McGinthia; one daughter: Kellie Patterson and husband, Glenn; one precious granddaughter: Olivia Love and her husband, Noah; two brothers: Sidney and Jim Ames; a host of nieces and nephews; and many dear friends.
Funeral service was held at 10:00 a.m., on Friday, September 1, 2023, at McConnell Funeral Home Chapel in Greenwood.
Nancy was laid to rest at Cross Cemetery in Greenwood.
