On August 26, 2023, Jennifer Marie Dale, of Birmingham, Michigan, passed away peacefully in the loving arms of her three fortunate and adored children, Jason, Laura and Megan.

Jennifer was the oldest of six Joliat siblings, and from her earliest days, she cared for and comforted them as a surrogate mother. It was a big job. The love she proffered so constantly can be seen as her essence; many circles of friends will suffer her loss deeply.

Jennifer studied elementary education at Central Michigan University after attending Shrine High School. Teaching was an act of dedication and love for her as she nurtured Kindergartners and First Graders at Pembroke Elementary in Birmingham. She leaves behind hundreds of creative and curious minds, whose antics and accomplishments enriched her days. The parents of her students became treasured friends. She loved living in the town where she could see her little ones grow into wonderful adults. She was a devoted parishioner of Holy Name, where she prepared second graders for Communion because her faith was an essential pillar of her life, and she wanted to share it.

Upon retiring, Jennifer was able to spend time in the company of her scores of friends. Jennifer cross-pollinated her high school, college and professional friends with her neighbors and her family. The circles she inhabited were inclusive and enriched by her positive attitude and never ending smile. To be friend or family to Jennifer Dale was a profound gift; the loss of her light will be a burden to everyone who encountered her. Fortunately, her bright spirit will carry forward in joyous memories. She lives on in the joy she spread and shared.
