He retired from Arkla Gas in 1985 as a line crew supervisor. He was a veteran of the Korean War. His favorite pastimes included reading the Bible, playing the piano, and spending time with his family. His favorite scripture from KJV is Proverbs 3:5-6, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your path".
