Betty was born on February 12, 1935, in Minden, Louisiana to Fred Perry Alford and Eva Wallace Alford and passed away on Friday, August 18, 2023, in Shreveport.
Betty was married to Turk Davis for 60 years before his passing. She was a Registered Radiologic Technologist and worked for Fairfield Hospital for years before receiving her certification from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography. She then went to work for Barksdale AFB Hospital and retired after 20 years. Once retired, they moved to Bella Vista, Arkansas and lived there for over 22 years before having to return to Shreveport almost five years ago. She loved porcelain dolls and had quite a collection of them. She loved Jesus with all her heart and Elvis Presley! She was the sweetest "Lady" and had the most kind, gentle soul.
Betty is preceded in death by her parents; two newborn brothers; husband, Bolin Murray "Turk" Davis; daughter, Terri Lynn Adams Applewhite; and son, Tommy Lee Adams. Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Robin Davis Culliton; sister, Bobbie Alford Zylks; grandchildren, Kailey Culliton Rodriguez (Keaton), Kara Culliton Terhune (David), Billy Fried (April), Sarah Applewhite, Alex Adams, Kristen Adams; great-granddaughter, Jacey Fried; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family suggests that memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or Willow Point Baptist Church. The family would like to give special thanks to Azalea Estates, The Glen, Heart of Hospice, and Molly Melancon Burt for the care they gave her.
