S.I.(Shell) COOK, 87, lifelong resident of Jefferson County, died December 30 in a nursing home near Oskaloosa. He was born Sept. 15, 1869, near Grantville and was a member of the Evangelical-United Brethen Church.
He is survived by six sons, Alpha, Claude and Raphel COOK, all of Meriden, Shelby, Lewis and Millard COOK, all of Topeka; five daughters, Mrs. Mary HAGADORN of Cassadaga, Fla., Mrs. Pearl MARKS and Mrs. Fay PATCH, both of Topeka, Mrs. Eva WHITLOCK and Mrs. Viola PENRY of Meriden; two brothers, Elias COOK, Oskaloosa, and Cyrus H. COOK, Grantville; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
