Frances was the oldest child of Tyra L. and Nellie Maude Hull Bever. He was very active in high school, being a very good football player. He contracted the flu during the Flu Epidemic of 1918. Thinking he had gotten over it, he returned to school and played in a football game. He had a relapse and died the day before Christmas, 1918.
