Mrs. Ann Richards, 425 Constitution, died suddenly Saturday night at 11:30 o'clock at her home.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Bethany Congregational chuch. Interment will be made in the Upper Dry Creek cemetery, southwest of Emporia. The family has requested that no flowers be sent.
Mrs. Ann Richards, whose maiden name was Miss Ann Rees, was born February 21, 1854, in Glanmorganshire, South Wales. She came to Kansas with her parents in May, 1871, and settled on a farm in Lyon county. Here she was married to Daniel S. Richards, March 2, 1881, and they moved to a farm on Coal creek, south of Emporia. Mr. Richards died in 1906. Five daughters and one son survive. They are: Mrs. Mary James, who lives southwest of Emporia; Mrs. Annie Owen, 723 West Sixth; Mrs. Rachel Maddock, of Canon City, Colo.; H. Richards, 425 Constitution; Mrs. Hettie Rees and Mrs. Jane Russell, both who live southwest of Emporia. Two brothers, Jenkin Rees, who lives south of Emporia, and David Rees, of Twin Falls, Idaho, also survive.
