BLISS, Evelyn Ruth – Of Welland, peacefully, at the Welland General Hospital, on Saturday, October 30, 2010, in her 84th year. Cherished wife of the late Douglas Bliss (1987). Beloved mother of Shirley Damude of Chippawa, Christina Christenson (Larry) and Wally Bliss, all of Welland, Marilyn Trout (Geoff) of Niagara Falls, Carolyn Folster (Curt) of Walford and Brian Bliss of Collingwood. Also survived by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, a sister Lucille Duquette (Gordon) of Quebec, brother-in-law Elwyn Bliss (Joyce) of Blenheim and sister-in-law Linda Middleton (Richard) of Welland, her good friend of 20 years, Leonard Matthews and other family in Quebec. Also predeceased by parents Raymond and Ruth Bachelder, her son Maitland and brother Maitland. Mrs. Bliss was born in Newport, Vermont, educated and married in Quebec coming to Ontario settling in Welland in the late 1960's. She was an active member of Cook's Mills United Church and the United Church Women (UCW). She loved square dancing, knitting mittens for various children's charities and travelling across Canada.
