Enlisted, September 27, 1910, in Troop A, Squadron A Cavalry, New York City. Served with Troop A, Squadron A Cavalry on the Mexican Border, June 1916 - Dec. 28, 1916. Commissioned, 2nd Lieutenant, Field Artillery, May 11, 1917. serving with the 1st NY Artillery. The 1st NY Artillery reorganized for the World War as the 104th Field Artillery, 27th Division. He was assigned to Battery D and saw combat in France, till Nov. 11, 1918. Promoted to Captain, Feb. 20, 1919. Returned from France aboard the S.S. America, docking March 15, 1919. He marched in the " Welcome Home Parade " for the 27th Division, up 5th Avenue, in New York City, March 25, 1919. Discharged from the Service, April 1, 1919 ( Camp Upton, NY ? ).
Sept 3, 1942, Major, 5th Brigade ( JA ), NYG. Transferred to retired list, Feb. 20, 1948.
