"Louisa Elizabeth Allen, 78, of La Grande, who traveled here from Switzerland where she was born in 1868, died at a local hospital yesterday. She had been a resident of Union county for 44 years.
Her survivors include nine children, Mrs. Louise Locke, Mrs. Lillian Beverage, and Ezra Allen, all of Portland; Henry Allen of Southerland, Mrs. Elva Nicholes of Caldwell, Ida., Ray Allen, Herber Allen and Elmer Allen of La Grande, and Mrs. Irene Fitzgerald of Summerville.
Also surviving are a sister, Mrs. Carrie Jansen of La Grande, 18 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at the Snodgrass funeral home, with Bishop Walter Lindsay in charge. Interment will be in the Portland mausolem (sic, *) beside her husband, Peter Allen, who died in 1933."
