"Mrs. Ira K. Hicks, aged 68 years, died Friday night at 12 o'clock at the home of Mrs. John Hogmire, 410 west Willard street. Mrs. Hicks was at one time part owner of the Kalamazoo Wagon company of this city. Mr. and Mrs. Hicks came to Kalamazoo from Courtland, New York, 25 years ago, at the same time that the Kalamazoo Wagon company came to this city. Mrs. Hicks was a prominent member of the First Baptist church and had always been active in the church work. She leaves one daughter, Mrs. W. H. Richards of Racine, two sons, Henry Hicks and Loyd Hicks, and a grandson, Ira Hicks of this city. None of the funeral arrangements will be made until after the arrival of Mrs. Richards, who Is expected in the city this evening."
The daughter from Racine was Nettie Hicks Richards, wife of William A. Richards.
