Mrs. Jessie Gettys, 67, mother-in-law of Frank Kimball, pipefitter, died suddenly Tuesday evening at the home of her son Rex Gettys, with whom she resided. She had been a resident of Kalamazoo for the past 22 years, moving here from Howell, Michigan. Mrs. Gettys was born in Wood County, Ohio, April 10, 1881, the daughter of John and Arvilia Hallabaugh Neufer. She was married February 24, 1900, to James L. Gettys, who died in 1946. Mrs. Gettys is survived by four daughters, five sons, 23 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, with interment in Riverside cemetery.— D.D.
