Abraham Jacob deJonge was born on December 12 1878 in Colijnsplaat, Zeeland, Netherlands. His parents were William deJonge and Wilhelmina Wondergem. The family immigrated to the USA in 1887 when Abraham was 9 years old. The family changed their name to DeYoung at that time. Abraham's first marriage was to Frances Meade on January 13, 1902. She died young at age 46 and he married a second time to Henrietta Sikkenga on August 25, 1923. Abraham died on August 22, 1945 at the age of 66.
