John "Jack" Anthony Basilone, 84, of Sunny Isles Beach, Fla., formerly of Zelienople, passed away on Wednesday, July 5, 2023.
Born Oct. 18, 1938, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Joseph and Margaret Walsh Basilone.
Jack was a proud Army veteran who took great pride in commemorating his esteemed relative, Sgt. John Basilone, a World War II war hero. Jack was a longtime family business owner of Basilone Cleaners and Formal Wear, along with the Coin Wash Laundry in Zelienople with his brother George.
In his early years, Jack enjoyed golfing, coaching his boys in baseball, attending Steelers games and running Beat the Dealer at the St. Gregory Lawn Fete with his brother. Jack was very proud of his grandchildren and loved to watch them play sports. Christmastime was always his favorite because he enjoyed spending time with his entire family.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife, Jessica Bellaiche Basilone; his children, Scott (Melody) Basilone and Gregg Basilone; his grandchildren, Brandon and Cameron; his brothers, George (Roberta) Basilone and James (Christy) Basilone; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by his siblings, Joseph Basilone, Margaret Yurek and Ann DeMarco; and the mother of his sons, Sherry A. Basilone.
BASILONE - A memorial service for John "Jack" Anthony Basilone, who died Wednesday, July 5, 2023, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Divine Grace Parish, St. Gregory Church, 2 W. Beaver St., Zelienople.
Jack will be laid to rest at St. Gregory Catholic Church Cemetery with full military honors.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to BOYLAN FUNERAL HOME, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.
