Harry C. "Hap" Akins, passed away peacefully on the warm summer morning of August 16, 2023 at SpiriTrust Lutheran in York.

Hap was born in York on a cold damp day of January 23, 1925 and was the son of the late George Edward and Lyda (Klieser) Akins. He worked as a farmer in the summer and hauled luxury yachts in the winter. Later, Hap worked for Penske Trucking as well. He was a motorsport fan and enjoyed going to local auctions. Harry was also a member of the Viking Club, B.D. Social Club, and Wolf's Covenant Church in York.

Hap is survived by his sisters Charlotte Hoffman and Margie Geisler; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother Charles Akins, his sister Fairy Martin; and infant sister Beulah Akins.

A Funeral Service in celebration of Hap's life will be held on Tuesday, August 22, 2023 at 10:00AM at Wolf's Covenant Church, 4501 Wolf's Church Rd., York, PA 17408 with Rev. Eric Palmquist officiating. He will be laid to rest following the service at St. Paul's (Wolf's) Church Cemetery. Viewings will be held on Monday, August 21, 2023 from 6:00PM – 8:00PM at Beck Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Inc., 175 N. Main St., Spring Grove, PA 17362 and on Tuesday from 9:00AM – 10:00AM at Wolf's Covenant Church prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Harry's memory may be made to a charity of your choice.
