Son of Capt. James Arrington (1741-1807) and Mary Pickering (1743-1782). He was a Master Mariner and a member of the Universalist Church of Salem. He married Deborah Richards (1769-1849), widow of George Beltin Scott, 11 March 1797 in Salem, MA. James Arrington's children:
