Frank W. Dayton was born July 8, 1867 at Pierson, Iowa, and passed from this life at Oxford, Nebraska on October 24, 1939 at the age of 72 years, 3 months and 16 days.

He was united in marriage to Miss Grace Luddington at Correctionville, Iowa, in February 1892. To this union nine children were born, three of them dying in infancy.

In 1893 the (sic) moved to Gordon, Nebraska and took a homestead, but later returned to Iowa. About 1904 they moved in a covered wagon to Kansas, and after considerable moving about, finally settled at Trenton, Nebraska in 1917. A few years ago Mr. Dayton went to Oxford which has since been his home. He was always a hard working man and took his last few months of life and suffering with no complaint.

He leaves to mourn his passing besides his wife, two sons, Lee Roy of Los Angeles, California, and Reuben of Beatrice, Nebraska, four daughters, Mrs. Fred Pennell and Mrs. Russell Atwood of Trenton, NE, Mrs. Haxel (sic) Bryant and Mrs. Fred Groffy of Pueble (sic), Colo., two brothers, Reuben of Michigan and Ervis of Washington, twelve grandchildren, and many friends.

Funeral and burial services for Mr. Dayton were held at Oxford last Thursday. His daughters, Mrs. Fred Pennell and Mrs. Russell Atwood were in attendance.
