Mrs. Glade Kerley attended the funeral of her grandfather, Mr. J. E. Bentley, who died of paralysis Saturday night at his home at Poors Knob, at Walnut Grove Baptist church Monday morning at 10 o'clock. Rev. E. V. Bumgarner conducted the services. Mr. Bentley was the father of Mrs. R. F. Campbell, of Hickory, who formerly lived here and is an uncle of Mrs. T. P. Ray, of this place. He was 78 years of age.

James parents were Joel Johnson Bentley and Margaret Mitchell.
Another child of his was Anna Victoria Bentley Hubbard who is buried in Riverview Cemetary in Richmond Virginia.
