Ozzie Ashley

Ozzie Ashley, 80, of Kilmichael, died of heart failure Thursday, October 29, 1997, at Kilmichael Hospital.

Mr. Ashley was a member of Bethany Church of God and was a school bus driver for Montgomery County Schools. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John G. Ashley.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 1, at Bethany Church of God near Kilmichael. The Rev. Harvey Overstreet officiated with the Rev. Dewitt Lott and the Rev. Jimmy Latham assisting. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Mr. Ashley is survived by one son, James Ashley of Columbus; three sisters, Mable Palmertree of Starkville, Fay Palmertree and Kate Dorman, both of Kilmichael; one brother, Ira Ashley of Belzoni; and one granddaughter, Mary Beth Ashley of Waynesboro, Tenn.

Pallbearers were Tom Wade Palmertree, Basil Palmertree, James Hester, Jerry Hester, J.D. Hester, and Mike Palmertree.

Honorary pallbearers were Tommy Palmertree and John Ashley.

Oliver Funeral Home of Winona was in charge of arrangements.
