GARY LEE COUCHOT, 69, of Sidney, passed away at 7:45 P.M. Friday, August 11, 2023 at his residence surrounded by his family. He was born on September 10, 1953 in Sidney, Ohio, the son of the late Paul and Irma (Stumpff) Couchot.

On August 6, 1977 he married the former Marisa "Maria Isabel" Aguirre, who survives him along with their three sons, Marc (Cindy) Couchot of Wilkes-Barre, PA, Christopher (Alison) Couchot of Fayetteville, NC, and Andrew Couchot of Baltimore, MD; three grandchildren, Eden, Ari and Cristiano; two brothers, Steve (Maria Ines) Couchot of Sidney, and Michael (Marylee) Couchot of Jackson Center; one sister, Nancy (Gary) Myers of Troy; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Gary was a graduate of Anna High School, class of 1971. He retired in 2021 from Wayne Trail (Lincoln Technologies) in Fort Loramie where he customized tool and die machines. Gary was a FIFA certified high school and college referee for over 30 years. He was an avid golfer and member of Shelby Oaks, and a lifetime Cleveland Browns fan. He enjoyed traveling with his wife, especially to Mexico, loved going to concerts and weekends at the casino with close friends and family. Also a cat lover, Gary had rescued numerous cats during his lifetime. His greatest joy was his family, and he was extremely proud of his sons and grandchildren. Gary will be missed forever, but we will always remember his sense of humor.

Gary was a 46 year member of Holy Angels Catholic where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, August 18, 2023 at 10:30 A.M. with Fr. Steve Mondiek officiating. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery.
