Edward M. Kenter was born in Brockville, Ontario, Canada in 1840 son of George Kenter 1790-1849 and Frances (Fannie) Lobdell 1796-1867. He married first Ruth Jane Stillson 1843-1896 and had 2 daughters, Adelia "Delia" Adele Kenter Hudson 1862-1954 and Celia Mae Kenter Smith 1866-1897. He adopted Azel Vernon Kenter 1876-1958, son of his brother Henry Charles Kenter 1853-1918. He married second Polly Eliza Swan Stone Kenter and third, Emily C. Oder Bandy Kenter 1840-1936 in 1917 in Gas City, Grant County, Indiana.
