Roger Dale Lawson, age 76 of Cookeville, Tennessee, passed away Monday, August 7, 2023 at Standing Stone Care and Rehabilitation in Monterey, Tennessee.
Roger was born August 16, 1946 in the Stringtown community to the late Fred and Lillie Ada Burgess Lawson. He was a mechanic. Roger was an active member of Pistole Baptist Church and was a former deacon at Stevens Street Baptist Church. He was an avid fisherman and hunter, in his spare time, he never missed an episode of Gunsmoke. His greatest joy was being Pa to his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by seven siblings.
Surviving family members include his wife of 36 years: Sheri Lawson
Two daughters: Briana Cleghorn and Gabrielle Lawson,
Six grandchildren: Jaylee Kornacki, Jordan Lawson, Emma Cleghorn, Charlotte Cleghorn, Jensen Cleghorn and Waylon Cleghorn,
Two sisters: Freta (Jamie) Brooks and Betty Matheney,
Special niece: Noretta (Thomas) Prime,
