Charles 'Chuck' F. Bell, 92, of Danville, Illinois, passed away at 1:22pm, Saturday, August 5, 2023, at OSF Sacred Heart Medical Center, Danville, Illinois.
He was born to Milo and Florence {Collins} Bell on September 25, 1930, in Danville, Illinois. He was first married to Betty {Felgenhauer} Beeson and later married to Eunice 'Boots' Roderick for many years. She will miss him dearly.
He will also be missed by his children, Eric (Laura) Bell and Rebecca (Don) Julian; his stepson, Ed (Naomi) Rummel; his step daughter-in-law, Karen Rummel; his several grandchildren and great grandchildren, as well as many great-great grandchildren; his brother, Melvin Bell and his sister, Evelyn (Haurez).
He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Charles Bell; his stepson, Kim Rummel; his brother, John Bell; his sister, Maxine Hale and Joan Bell; his sisters-in-law, Jean Dobbles and Joyce Bell and his brothers-in-law, Paul Dobbles and Jack Haurez.
Chuck was a proud Veteran of the US Army. He worked for General Motors Tilton Foundry for many years until he retired. He was a 32nd degree Mason with Scottish Rites. He enjoyed going camping and hunting as well as tinkering with everything. Chuck loved going boating and water skiing. He adored spending time with his family, especially when making his homemade ice cream.
A celebration of Chuck's life will be held at 3:00pm, Monday, August 14, 2023, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Georgetown, Illinois 200 E. West St. Georgetown, Illinois 61846 with Pastor James Blue officiating. Visitation will be held from 1:00pm to 3:00pm on Monday prior to his service at the funeral home.
He will be laid to rest in Forest Park Cemetery, Georgetown. Chuck was a dedicated blood donor for 77 years and in lieu of monetary donations, the family asks that you donate blood to honor his name.
