Margaret Havens SUMMERVILLE - Margaret Havens, 92, of Summerville, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on Thursday, July 27, 2023. Born on December 23, 1930 in Minnesota, she was the daughter of the late William and Cecelia Schanen.

Margaret was a devoted military wife who proudly raised three amazing children. She was the Sergeant Major of her household and loved spending time with her entire family. Margaret enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren and great- grandchildren; they were her entire world.

Margaret is preceded in death by her loving husband of sixty-one years, Russell Havens, Sr., daughter, Mary Gleason, son, Russell Havens, Jr., and grandson, Ricky Gleason.

Margaret is survived by her daughter, Karen Johnson (Roy), son-in-law, Roger Gleason, and daughter-in-law, Molly Morgan. She is also survived by five grandchildren: Charlie Gleason (Vera), Michael Johnson (Ginny), Matthew Johnson, Russell Havens III (Jessica) and Michelle Carroll (Nick) and seven great-grandchildren: Charlee Marie Gleason, Maddie and London Johnson, Hayden and Hannah Carroll, and Ryland and Erin Havens.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, August 2, 2023 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at MCALISTER-SMITH FUNERAL HOME, GOOSE CREEK CHAPEL. The burial will be private. Flowers will be accepted, or donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Online condolences can be sent to www.mcalister-smith.com.
