Stanford "Stan" Lynn Moore was a lifelong resident in the Mason area and also for a while lived in Florida with his first wife and their daughter.
Stan Moore was the fourth son born to Robert "Bob" and Deana Irene (Griffin) Moore born on August 8, 1953 in Lansing, Michigan and passed away on July 27, 2023 at the age of 69 at Riverwind Assisted Living Center in Williamston, Michigan
due to upper ALS.

He graduated from Mason High School in 1973. He was a self taught carpenter and did roofing and remodeling jobs. He married for the first time on May 11, 1985 to Mary Ann Wancour in Saint Clair Shores, MI and they moved to Florida where their daughter was born in Miami. They divorced when their daughter was young and he moved back to Michigan. He purchased a house on Barnes Street across from the Mason Senior High School and remodeled it. His mother lived with him helping to take care of his daughter. Later on he got engaged and married a second time, no children. They eventually divorced later on. He also bought a house on Elm Street in Mason and was in the process of remodeling and planning on living in that house when his ALS was diagnosed at Michigan State University by a doctor there (2020?) and then later on went to University of Michigan Hospital and saw the same doctor as his oldest brother who was also diagnosed down there with ALS in April of 2019. He later sold his house on Elm Street and was also living in an apartment in Mason not far from Elm Street. He moved into Riverwind Assisted Living Residential place in Williamston sometime in August of 2022, where he remained until his passing.

His mother moved to Kiwanis Village in Mason before his second marriage. In his later years he would travel back to Florida in the winter months to visit his daughter and family and while there he did do some odd jobs for people in Florida there as extra income.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, William and Donald Moore and a sister, Diana Moore. He is survived by a son, two daughters, several grandchildren and a great grandchild.
Also surviving are a brother living in Mason, a brother living in Kentucky and a sister living in Florida.

Cremation arrangements were made by Vickers Funeral Home in Leslie, MI.

His wishes were to have his ashes spread somewhere in Michigan and in Florida so there was no funeral or burial .

His Journey's Just Begun

Don't think of him as gone away--
his journey's just begun,
life holds so many facets--
this earth is only one.

Just think of him as resting
from the sorrows and the tears,
in a place of warmth and comfort
where there are no days and years.

Think how he must be wishing
that we could know today,
how nothing but our sadness
can really pass away.

And think of him as living
in the hearts of those he touched...
for nothing loved is every lost--
and he was loved so much.
