Funeral services for Mrs. Verdie Delaney Hebert, 92 will be at 2 p.m.
Friday, April 24, in Johnson Funeral Home.
The Revs. Arthur Rockett and Eddie Simmons will officiate. Burial will
be in Hayes Cemetery.
Visitation is from 1:30-9 p.m. today, and from 8 a.m. Friday.
Mrs. Hebert died at 6 a.m. Wednesday, April 22, 1998 in a local care
facility.
A native of Bell City and longtime resident of Jennings, she moved to
Lake Charles in 1972. She was a member of Sale Street Baptist
Church and taught Sunday school class for many years. She was a
member of the Jennings chapter of the Eastern Star for many years.
Survivors include one son, Thomas E. Hebert of Huntsville, Ala.; one
daughter, Pearl H. Walker of Lake Charles; three sisters, Mrs. Annie
Edmonds of Anahuac, Texas, Mrs. Georgie Fontenot of Hayes and
Mrs. Polly Roberts of Kingston, Okla.; 10 grandchildren; and 13
great-grandchildren.
