Willis Danial Brown passed August 4, 2023, in Claremore, Oklahoma with his wife and family by his side. Willis was born February 24th, 1937, in Braggs, Oklahoma to Royden Brown and Iva Pearl "Johnson" Brown. As a child, his mother affectionately gave him the nickname Doegie which stuck with him throughout his life. Willis' father passed away when he was 2 years old but was later blessed with his dad Elliot Ford who loved and raised him as his own.
In 1954, Willis joined the Airforce as an aircraft mechanic where he served honorably for 9 years. After military service, he continued working as an aircraft mechanic until his passion for horses and racing drew him to training racehorses for many years.
Willis is preceded in death by his son Stanley Willis Brown, Father Royden Brown, Dad Elliot Ford, Mother Iva Pearl Stafford, Brother James Edward Brown, Brother Ronnie Ford, and Stepfather Earl Stafford.
Willis is survived by his wife of 49 years Bonnie Brown, Son Mike Brown and wife Tammy of Fort Gibson, OK and Son Kenneth Brown and wife Tammy of Tahlequah, OK, Daughter Linda Caldwell of OKC, OK, Rhonda Brown of Tulsa, OK, Lashawna Brown of Yukon, OK, Jerry Taylor Jr. (nephew loved as a son).
Grandchildren: Brandi Adair, Dustin Brown, Justin Brown, Jennifer Carmack, Corie Caldwell, Deanna Adair, Taylor Davis and 12 Great Grandchildren.
Survived by 5 siblings: Patsy Alexander (Muskogee, OK), Rick Ford and wife Susie (Muskogee, OK), Larry Ford and wife Teresa of (Muskogee, OK), Dean Ford and wife Jerri (Wenatchee, WA), Charlie Ford and wife BJ (Muskogee, OK), also James and Ruth Taylor who were loved as a brother & sister and best friends of Doegie.
Willis leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews and friends that he dearly loved.
