ALVIN REED

Alvin Reed of 516 Fifth Avenue, Juniata, died at 6:10 a.m. Tuesday, June 27, 1972 in Altoona Hospital, where he was admitted May 25, following a lengthy illness.

He was born November 5, 1899 in Entriken, Huntingdon County, a son of Charles and Clara (Cunningham) Reed, and was twice married, first to Anna Hooper, who died in 1943, then to Irene Cook Brenizer on June 14, 1944.

Surviving are a stepdaughter, Mrs. Bertha Watson of Etters, a niece, reared in the home, Mrs. Dorothy Kovacs of New York City; and two brothers, Paul of Belle Vernon and Frank of Beaver Falls.

The deceased had retired on disability from the Pennsylvania Railroad in 1958 as a fireman, middle division.

Funeral services will be held in the Mauk & Yates funeral home, Juniata, at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 29. Interment will be made in Grandview Cemetery.

Friends will be received at the funeral home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., Wednesday, and from 10 a.m. until the hour of the services Thursday.
